At ClearBridge, we maintain a flexible approach to analysis, with a common focus on real economic returns and cash flow. Both Portfolio Managers and analysts are responsible for research. Because many of our Portfolio Managers have a background in fundamental analysis, they will typically conduct their own research in addition to what our analysts produce, including regular interaction with corporate management teams.

We believe that having a seasoned Portfolio Management team also leads to a more robust vetting process for our research that in turn, improves the overall quality of our information.
