Scott co-manages the Appreciation and Dividend strategy products. He has 17 years of investment industry experience.
As the co-director of research, Scott also oversees the cornerstone of the ClearBridge approach to investing: proprietary research. Our fundamental research team is a crucial shared resource, helping managers to both find potential new investments and to conduct constant surveillance of their current portfolio holdings.
Prior to joining the firm, Scott was a credit analyst specializing in fixed income investments for Bear Stearns. In 1993, Scott joined the research department of predecessor organization Shearson Lehman Brothers as a consumer analyst and transitioned into a role as a portfolio manager one year later. Scott graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont where he received his BA in Political Science and Spanish. He earned his MBA in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
